The Views Safari is our ‘ultimate’ tour. Add an extra night in the Serengeti and you will be complete. The choice of lodge in each park places you on top with amazing vistas from each. This tour only operates as an Ultimate Safari.

Afternoon departures allow for arrivals from Kenya or overnight international flights. Returning to Arusha at noon permits travelers to easily extend to southern Tanzania or Zanzibar.

THE VIEWS SAFARI ITINERARY

Tours operate daily with two people minimum (based on availability)

Day 1 Arrival in Arusha

KARIBU TANZANIA. Welcome to Tanzania.
Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Arusha, Tanzania. Airport Meet and Greet and then transfer to Arusha Hotel for overnight.

Day 2 Arusha

Meet with your tour guide at 10 am. Visit a local market where you will help pick out local produce to donate to a local orphanage. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, have a choice of an optional visits to the Tanzanite Experience, Shanga or the remainder of the day at leisure. (BLD)

Day 3 Arusha – Tarangire NP

Morning departure for Tarangire National Park. Depending on the season, it’s possible to see large herds of elephants throughout the park. Along with many other herbivores they are drawn to the Tarangire River and the Silale Swamp. Overnight at your Tarangire lodge. (BLD)

Day 4 Tarangire NP

Morning and afternoon game drives today. Large Baobab trees are a main feature of the park. While over 500 bird species have been recorded here the big cats may be found as well. Overnight at your Tarangire lodge. (BLD)

Day 5 Tarangire NP – Lake Manyara NP

Optional early morning game drive. Return to Lemala Mpingo Ridge for breakfast and prepare for your departure. Mid-morning transfer to Kuro Airstrip for your flight to Lake Manyara. Fly over the Great Rift Valley before arriving up on the escarpment. Transfer to Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge which sits on the edge of the escarpment looking down into this luscious section of The Great Rift Valley. After lunch and some settling in you will have the choice of an afternoon at leisure or a visit with an Iraqw tribal village. before climbing the escarpment and on to the Ngorongoro Crater. En-route shopping stop at the best souvenir shop in Tanzania. Afternoon optional visit at a Maasai Village ($20). Overnight at your Ngorongoro lodge or Farm House. (BLD)

Day 3 Lake Manyara NP – Serengeti NP

Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park famous for its tree climbing lions. This small park is diverse with five vegetation zones. The soda lake is a draw to over 400 species of birds including the greater and lesser flamingoes. (BLD)

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Game drive 2000 feet down in the Eighth Natural Wonder of the World – Ngorongoro Crater. Year round water keeps a large variety of animals teeming in the area. Picnic lunch will be at one of the hippo pools. Continue your game drive in one of the best places to see black rhinos in Tanzania. The crater elephants also have some of the largest tusks in all of Africa. Overnight at your Ngorongoro lodge or Farm House. (BLD)

Day 7 Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area – Serengeti NP

Continue on around the rim of the Crater and descend into the Serengeti. Optional visit to the Olduvai Gorge ($30) which sits between the two parks. The drive leading up to the park entrance at Naabi Hill gives you an idea where the park gets its name of Serengeti – Maasai for ‘endless plains’. After your picnic lunch you will continue with the game drive en-route to your lodge. Arrive in the late afternoon and overnight. (BLD)

Day 8 Serengeti NP

Optional sunrise balloon safari. Enjoy more exploration of this great park possibly visiting one of the many dazzling Kopjes (rocky outcrops) scattered throughout the area. Return in the late afternoon and overnight at your Serengeti lodge. (BLD)

Day 9 Serengeti NP

The Serengeti is full of awe-inspiring landscapes from the plains, to the acacia forests, to the hills in the central region and the Kopjes located throughout. Add that to the abundant wildlife and you will see why it is animal paradise. You will spend the entire day in it looking for game including the many prides of lions that live throughout the park. Overnight at your Serengeti lodge. (BLD)

Day 10 Serengeti NP – Arusha

Morning game drive en-route to the Seronera Airport in the central Serengeti for your flight to Arusha. Continue on to your Zanzibar extension or transfer to your Arusha hotel where there is a day room waiting for you. Transfer to JRO for your evening departure for the U.S. (BL)

OPTIONAL: Adding an additional day and night in the fabulous Serengeti National Park is highly recommended. With the Serengeti being the size of Vermont (5600 sq. mi.) there is plenty of park left to explore. The additional day also creates flexibility in how the game drives will play out during the other days in the Serengeti.
